Behringer QX1002USB Mixer

July 26, 2013

Just ordered a Behringer QX1002USB Mixer from zZounds for 109.99. My primary use for this mixer will be on solo acoustic guitar gigs where I only will use 1 mic and the RMC pickups, as well as backing tracks and maybe a guitar synth. I will use the mixer with either 2 QSC K10 or 1-2 Behringer Eurolive B210D speakers. This should allow me to play where I don’t have much room to set up and should be able to set up and start playing in 5-10min.

NOTE: This mixer died in about one week. I sent it back and decided to go with a Mackie 802 VLZ4 mixer.

SKB Roto Mini Gig Rig

July 12, 2013

We decided to rack the Presonus Studio Live 1602 mixer but did not want to add to much weight so we went with the SKB Roto Mini GigRig SKB 19R1006 purchased from zZounds for 260.00. It holds a PreSonus Studio Live 16.0.2 mixer with the added rack ears, mini light, In Ear monitor system, Roland GI-20 and Wirless mic and some pedals. There’s room in the back for a router, and extra cables.

QSC K10’s

July 7, 2013

We just purchased the QSC K 10’s and used them live and our regular fans, the venue, and we ourselves were blown away with the quality of sound, the dispersion and clarity. Our sound engineer was thrilled with the ability to mic the flamenco guitars and no feedback issues. We use the Presonus Studio Live 16.0.2 mixer and Byerdynamic Mics. I also use RMC Pickups with a Fishman Aura Spectrum DI. I’m looking forward to using the K10’s and love the way we sound live. I’ve used Fishman and Bose but was never really happy with the sound. Now what people hear is what I’m hearing and the what the mic is picking up. Very clear and detailed tone. The Fishman SA220 I’ve been using for two years is great but there’s something missing as well as when I have used the Bose systems. This is our new system.
