Bartlett Audio Guitar Mic

August 28, 2013

I’ve been using the Bartlett Audio Guitar Mic B for the last week with my DeVoe Blanca and RMC pickups. I love the sound and tone I’m getting. It’s very nice to play loud with out feedback. I am using the RMC Pickups with the Bartlett Audio Guitar Mic B into a Rane AP 13 where I have both the RMC and Mic split into two separate channels. Best tone and sound that I have had live in a long time.

New Rack

August 27, 2013

So my live rack is complete. I start with my Lester DeVoe Blanca outfitted with RMC Pickups or A Miguel Rodriquez guitar with Fishman Prefix Premium Blend Preamp. On the DeVoe I use a Bartlett Audio Guitar Mic B. Both guitars then go to the Rane MP13 preamp. The RMC pickups do go though a RMC Poly Drive II. The Poly Drive II spits signal pickup and signal for Roland GI 20 that is hooked up via MIDI to a Roland XV2020 Synth. Then out to a channel on Mackie 802VLZ. (Back to Guitar) the pickup is run to Rane AP13 as well as the Barlett Mic they also then get run through DBX 266XL Compression Gate/Exp and then to the Mackie 802VLZ on channel 2&3. For affects I am using the Lexicon MX300 with pre set #7 or #1 then mixer goes out to two QSC K10’s

Mackie 802VLZ4

August 12, 2013

Just picked up a Mackie 802VLZ4 Mixer and it’s fantastic. The mic pres (ONYX) rock I used my DPA 4099G with no eq and my DeVoe sounds the best I’ve heard it thought a mixer. The mic pres really made a huge difference over the other mixer I was using. I really like the way the mixer is laid out and looks. I will be using this mixer live 2-3 times this week and will write more later.

(Update 8/14/13)
Gigged with the Mackie 802VLZ4 last night and had so many complements on the sound. With the QSC K10’s the sound was clear, defined and crisp separation. I really liked using the DPA 4099G mic on my DeVoe Blanca. I added a but of reverb from a Lexicion MX 300 to give some space. Amazing sound thank you Mackie, DPA, Lexicion, QSC.

Fishman Prefix Premium Blend installed on a Manuel Rodriguez C3F

August 4, 2013

After having a venue in Hoboken NJ scratching and bumping into my DeVoe guitar causing some damage. I decided to use a less expensive guitar so I am going with a Manuel Rodriguez C3F guitar and has a Fishman Prefix Premium Blend installed. The guitar and pickup sound very good. Being able to blend in the mic at 20-30% with the pickup I am getting very good results. Tone shaping is very good as well. I will be using this set up for small bar gigs and where I am not able to have a private area such a s a stage. I will use this set up with a Power Works PW50 P.A. SystemIMG_4869
